Couples Therapy: Strengthen Your Relationship, Rekindle Your Connection
Relationships involve two individuals who come together with their individual ways of relating and wishes and wants from life.
Relationships by their very nature are predisposed to challenges; including communication struggles, emotional disconnection and conflict.
I will work with you to help you rediscover harmony, rebuild trust, and create lasting intimacy in your relationship.
What Is Couples Therapy?
Couples therapy is a therapeutic approach designed to help partners address and resolve issues within their relationship. It provides a safe, neutral space for both individuals to express their feelings, explore underlying issues, and work together toward a healthier, more fulfilling relationship.
Whether you’re experiencing a major crisis or simply want to improve your connection,
I will help guide you through the process with empathy and understanding.
Common concerns addressed in couples psychotherapy include –
- Communication issues: Difficulty listening, expressing feelings, or resolving conflicts.
- Emotional disconnection: Feeling distant, unloved, or misunderstood by your partner.
- Infidelity or trust issues: Coping with betrayal and rebuilding trust after a breach.
- Sexual concerns: Differences in desire, intimacy, or sexual satisfaction.
- Family dynamics: Navigating relationships with in-laws, children, or blended families.
- Life transitions: Adjusting to major life changes, like marriage, parenthood, or retirement.
- Conflict resolution: Learning healthier ways to handle disagreements and avoid destructive patterns.

What you can expect to gain from Couples Therapy ?
Relationships can be challenging, but therapy is a tool that can help you both grow stronger, together. Here’s how couples therapy can benefit your relationship:
- Improve Communication: Learn to listen, understand, and respond to each other in ways that promote connection and respect.
- Rebuild Trust: Whether you’ve faced betrayal or hurt, therapy can help repair your relationship and restore confidence in one another.
- Increase Emotional Intimacy: Deepen your bond by exploring and expressing feelings, desires, and vulnerabilities in a safe, supportive space.
- Strengthen Sexual connection: Discover through vulnerable communication what each of you desire and create the space to explore ways of strengthening your sexual connection.
- Resolve Conflict Constructively: Discover healthier ways to navigate disagreements without escalating into arguments or resentment.
- Strengthen Your Partnership: Cultivate a relationship built on mutual respect, understanding, and shared goals.
How Does Couples Therapy Work?
Couples therapy usually begins with an initial consultation, where we’ll discuss your relationship’s dynamics and the challenges you’re facing. From there, we’ll work together to identify patterns, triggers, and underlying emotions, while setting specific goals for improvement.
Therapy sessions may involve:
- Active listening and communication skills:
Learning how to listen more effectively, express your needs, and resolve conflicts respectfully. - Exploring past experiences:
Understanding how individual backgrounds and past relationships may influence current dynamics. - Homework assignments:
Practical exercises to practice outside of sessions that strengthen your connection. - Solution-focused interventions:
Specific strategies and tools that promote healthier interactions, trust, and emotional intimacy. - Identifying destructive patterns:
Breaking cycles of negativity or resentment that may be harming the relationship

Couples therapy isn’t just for those in crisis—it’s for anyone who wants to strengthen their bond, improve communication, or navigate relationship challenges. Some people come to therapy to address specific issues, while others simply want to enhance the quality of their relationship.
Our services are ideal for:
- Couples facing communication problems: If you struggle to connect or understand each other, therapy can help open the lines of communication
- Partners experiencing emotional or physical disconnection: Reconnect emotionally and physically with your partner and rebuild intimacy.
- Couples dealing with infidelity or trust issues: Repair your relationship after a betrayal and learn how to rebuild trust.
- Partners in long-term relationships: Even strong relationships can benefit from therapy to maintain connection and growth.
- Premarital couples: Couples preparing for marriage can benefit from therapy to build a strong foundation for the future.
My Approach
My approach to couples therapy brings together foundations of PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy) and Gestalt Therapy.
PACT supports an understanding of your individual emotional needs, attachment patterns, and how your brain and body respond to conflict, intimacy, and stress. With the Gestalt approach, I will bring into attention what I am observing in the here-and-now in the therapy process.
How will the therapy work
- The first session will be an assessment to build some ground for your therapy
- Sessions will be between 60 mins and 90 mins.
- Frequency will be based on your needs, however, my recommendation is that you do contemplate four to six sessions to get value from this work.
- We will work together to identify practices you take away from each session.
